Listening for hope

Supervision
I find it helpful to think of the two parts of the word: super (above) and vision (looking). In a supervision relationship the supervisee and I take a metaphorical helicopter ride, in order to survey what is happening in their work or ministry. We can then notice and explore together whatever is need of attention. It might be:
- A breakthrough moment to celebrate.
- Conflict management/resolution.
- An ethical or safety issue.
- An impasse.
- Professional development.
- Self-care.
- A theoretical or theological question.
Areas in which I am available to supervise people include spiritual direction, pastoral ministry/leadership (both clergy and lay), chaplaincy and other forms of ministry. I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Supervision, completed through Wintec, and have helped to establish and deliver the PGCertTh (Ministry Supervision) programme through Laidlaw College. Although I have counselling training (PGDipCouns, Waikato University), I do not supervise counsellors as I am not currently working as a counsellor, nor am I a member of a professional association of counsellors.
If you would like to explore the possibility of having supervision, please get in touch via the contact page.
